One in every four children struggle with eye-health related problems. Whether it be a simple case of far-sightedness, a stigmatism, or child diabetes, catching the problem early and getting on track to correct the problem will save them struggles in school. August being the month right before most schools start again, it makes sense for it to be National Children’s Eye Health month. Now is the time (if you haven’t already) to take your children in for a checkup and encourage your friends to as well. Vision problems directly result in both reading, comprehension and behavioral problems at school. Without the ability to see clearly children are more likely to struggle with reading, as well as become distracted easier in class; when they can’t focus on what’s written on the board, it’s harder for them to focus on the lesson at all.
And as far as safety goes, August is known to be one of the hottest months of the year so be sure to protect your little ones eyes! Shop for children’s sunglasses here!
